TINNY BOATS CAIRNS BOAT HIRE

Cairns Boat Hire has 4-person tinny boats available for half and full day hire. Our tinny boats are shaded and have two bench seats, with pillows provided. Driving and navigation is made easy thanks to the central console driving system. The tinny boats are perfect for mates, couples or small families. Your destination, the beautiful Trinity Inlet which offers sightseeing and fishing opportunities. If you don’t have your own rods, hire ours – other optional extras include bait, ice and an esky – you just bring your yourselves and your smiles.

You do not need a marine licence to drive, but you must be at least 18 years of age – or you can hire one of our skippers to drive for you.

TINNY BOATS

Our tinny boats provide a stable ride and have a canopy for shade. For maximum comfort, we recommend the tinny boats for couples, a pair of mates or a small family, as space is limited.

FISHING GEAR

If you don’t have your own fishing rods, no problem at all, we can hook you up with a hire package. We also have bait packs, ice and eskys – or you can BYO.

TRINITY INLET

Set your sights on Trinity Inlet and hire a tinny boat to enjoy the freedom of exploring and fishing, under your own steam. No licence needed.

There’s nothing better than being on the water, exploring this beautiful inlet with its mangrove forests. You can even BYO drinks and snacks.

TINNY BOATS Rates and Information

We’ve made the Cairns Boat Hire rates as flexible as possible, to suit any itinerary. You can hire our tinny boats for a half day (4 hours) or a full day (8 hours). The boats are suitable for all ages. Fuel and life jackets are included in the hire rate. It is mandatory that children aged 8 years old and under wear a life jacket. You don’t need a marine licence to drive, but you must be at least 18 years of age. Another option is to hire one of our skippers to drive the boat for you – this is an additional $50 per hour and the skipper is included in the passenger count for the boat. Please note that the driver / hirer must always keep the tinny boat within the designated area of operation in Trinity Inlet; a map will be provided at check-in. The boats are collected from and must be returned to Wharf A, Marlin Marina Cairns (which is adjacent to the Reef Fleet Terminal). Check-in is 15 minutes prior to your booked departure time. Anyone under 18 years of age must travel with a responsible guardian or adult. Safety briefings are provided. Please note: There is no swimming in Trinity Inlet at any time, due to the presence of saltwater crocodiles.

  • Infants & Children
    Infants can sit on parents' lap. Children aged 2 years old and upwards must have their own seat. Children aged 12 years and under must wear a life jacket. Life jackets are provided and included in the boat hire rate.
  • Includes
    Boat Hire. Life Jackets. Fuel. Our crew will provide an introductory and safety briefing, as well as tips on the best fishing spots for the tides and day / time of travel. They are also on-hand to help you set off and re-dock your boat at the end.
  • What To Bring
    A hat, sun block, insect repellent, sunglasses, a smile on your dial and camera. At least one person should have a mobile phone, in case you need to contact us. You are also welcome to BYO drinks and snacks, rods and bait, ice and esky (or we can prepare and provide that for you).
